Pittsburgh Fitness Project

Pittsburgh Fitness Project Personal Trainer and Class Director, Wes Hall, describes his fitness journey and philosophy for personal training in our latest Trainer Spotlight.

MY FITNESS JOURNEY

After bouncing around various jobs post-undergrad, I decided to make a career change and commit to making one of my passions and favorite hobbies my life. I’ve always gravitated towards physical activities and played sports, always moving and looking for the next challenge. I went back to school and got a Masters in Exercise Science. I haven’t looked back since and have been personal training now for over 6 years.

I’m not here just to tell you what exercises to do as a personal trainer. It’s my responsibility to coach and educate you. I’m here to tell you why I’m giving you a specific exercise, educate you on how to perform it correctly and how it will help you reach your specific goals.

I’m big on continuing education and am constantly learning new tools and refining my coaching techniques to help us reach your goals. In other words, I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to fitness. Read one my of fitness blogs at this link!

PERSONAL TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

As a trainer, I specialize in body composition change.

My philosophy with fitness is simple. In order to be successful, we need to have consistency and fun. We’re working to create long term lifestyle changes, not instant results. You could have the world’s best workout program, but if you can’t stick with it then it’s just another workout.

Consistency starts with showing up every day ready to work and learn. The next step is figuring out what makes training fun for you. If something is fun and enjoyable, you are more likely to stick with it. No matter how hard it may seem.

My goal for you is to help you become the best version of yourself, achieve the results you want, no matter where you are in your fitness journey and to have a little fun along the way.
