WHAT IS YOUR DIET MISSING?

The standard American diet is notoriously heavy in processed foods. Eating processed foods isn't inherently bad but can leave you lacking in the micronutrient department. These micronutrients can be beneficial to health, longevity, and overall performance in life. Don't just assume you are nutrient deficient, when in doubt get a blood panel test from a doctor.

Magnesium

Magnesium is essential to any chemical reaction that occurs in the body. Magnesium can be found in dark leafy greens, nuts and beans. An easy way to eat more greens is to throw a handful in with a protein shake and blend it up.

Iodine

Iodine is a mineral found naturally in food and added to table salt. Iodine is needed for proper thyroid function, thyroid function helps control the metabolism. Eating shellfish and table salt will be enough for most people.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D supports muscle, bone, and immune function. Humans can get vitamin D from the sun or from foods such as dairy products. In winter months at northern latitudes, humans won't absorb as much sunlight and therefore not produce as much vitamin D.
