In my personal training career, I have experienced a wide variety of people. I have seen old and young athletes and non-athletes. I have worked with people that had very serious and particular goals, as well as people with very general goals. In any case, what I have learned is that it’s not a person's goals, background, or even personality that influences how I view working with them. Rather it is the quality of our communication and the relationship we build.

My Ideal Client

My “ideal client” cannot be defined by X, Y, and Z criteria. They would be someone that I could build a positive relationship with. As a trainer, one of the best feelings is knowing I  was able to make my client’s session a highlight of their day. When I have built a strong positive relationship, I feel this is the outcome more often.

A strong relationship is always built first with trust. I am aware of the fact that people have had negative relationships with personal trainers, which is why I approach building trust with everyone individually. I start by considering your starting points and goals. In addition, I like to be aware of boundaries so I may respect them and, at the appropriate time, challenge them.

Building this relationship is mostly on the trainer as it requires earning my clients’ trust; however, there are two principles clients can buy into to make them the “ideal client.” The first is that lifelong physical activity is immensely beneficial. The second is that you must challenge your body for it to adapt (change).

This dynamic relationship is what I believe brings out the best in individuals. Across all demographics, positive attitudes have the ability to produce successful environments. If you are someone that is looking for a positive push toward your physical goals, I would be delighted to work with you!
