JASON’S KEY TO NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS
Now that the celebration is over and we most likely put on a couple more pounds from a loved one's pies and/or cookies. It might be time to start doing the New Year’s resolution. For Jason, the key to this has been doing something he already loves or figuring out how to love something new.
Having Confidence
Make your resolution something that you feel you can achieve because we don’t want to set ourselves up for failure. So, if you resolve to get more massages, maybe look at what that might mean to you. It could mean getting a massage regularly, which could be once a month or as needed. (Check out our package deals on massage.)
Making Your Resolution Challenging
Try to make your New Year’s resolution challenging so you will want to do it on a regular basis. But remember, do not make it so challenging that you hurt yourself or truly hate doing it.
Building Up a Routine
This will help you because we don’t often think about routines - we just do them. Achieving a routine of small, positive habits will make your resolution easier. Let’s say you want to floss more this year; your new resolution will be to get up in the morning and trade scrolling for a dental hygiene routine of brushing, flossing, and a mouthwash rinse. Heck, you might even start to think, how did I live without this before?
Share with Friends or Family
You might have some friends or family who would want to join you in your resolutions, and this accountability buddy will help you reach those goals easier.
Connect Your Resolution
Try connecting your resolution to something like, “I’m doing this to be healthier so I can be there for my partner or loved ones.” Having that connection to something important to you will make the resolution easier to achieve. It’s also a stronger reminder of why you have this resolution in the first place. Think about that when it gets the toughest!
Jason’s resolution this year is to work out more and get more massages because, just like everyone else, massage therapists don’t get massaged as often as they should.
So, book a massage appointment with Jason and come work out at the gym with him. So you can be a part of his resolution, and he can help you reach yours!
