A HOLIDAY BREAKFAST RECIPE: Dutch Pancakes

 
 

These are delicious custardy pancakes. A fave on weekends.

Ingredients 

  • ½ cup flour

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • ¼ teaspoon of salt

  • ½ cup of whole milk

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Prep

  • Heat your oven to 425 F

  • Place a cast iron skillet or other oven safe pan inside to get it hot. Place the skillet inside as it preheats

  • Mix your ingredients together in a blender on high for 20 seconds

  • Let it rest until your oven hits 425 F

  • Take out the hot pan (Careful!) with oven mitt and add two tablespoons butter. Swirl until melted

  • Hit the batter mixture with the blender again for a few seconds 

  • Pour your batter into the pan or skillet 

  • Place back in the oven for 20 minutes 

  • The pancake will puff up on the sides. It may come out uneven. No worries!

  • Add powdered sugar, fruit, or a compote 

  • Cut and add a bit of syrup if you like
